Tsvetanova Picks Up MEAC Setter of the Week for Third Time This Season

NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Andrea Tsvetanova has been named the MEAC Volleyball Setter of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday night. This is the third time this season, and the 13th time of her career, that Tsvetanova has received the honor.
 
A redshirt senior from Sofia, Bulgaria, Tsvetanova led the Eagles to a pair of MEAC victories last week while averaging 10.00 assists, 2.09 digs and nearly an ace and kill per set.  Tsvetanova opened the week with 24 assists, nine digs, four aces and four kills in a three-setter against American before tallying 27 assists, three aces and three kills in a sweep at South Carolina State.
 
Tsvetanova finished with a season-high 59 assists and 13 dig performance in a win at North Carolina Central while adding a pair of kills and three aces.
 
For the season, Tsvetanova leads the MEAC with 9.38 assists/set while ranking third in with 0.49 aces/set. Tsvetanova moved into second on CSU's all-time list with 2,600 assists and is closing in on 200 aces in her career.
 
The Eagles (14-3, 4-0 MEAC) return to action on Friday, October 6 when they travel to play Norfolk State in an early-season battle for first place.
