SMYRNA, Del. – Amadou Ba and
Salomay Agyei led the Coppin State men's and women's cross country teams at the Delaware State Sting Invitational on Saturday at the Delaware State Outreach & Research Center.
Ba took fifth of 49 runners in the Men's 5K in a time of 17:05.4, outkicking Morgan State's Levi Bryant to finish in the top five. Ba finished under 40 seconds behind the winner from Delaware State, Devin Smith.
Amiri Goode and
Ivan Wiggins-Ingram placed 29
th and 31
st, respectively, clocking a 19:36 and 19:54.9.
Randy Serville covered the 3.1 miles in 20:18.6 while
Jervonne Agard rounded out the entries for Coppin in 20:57.7.
Agyei finished the Women's 5K in 22:10.0 to take 13
th overall out of 36 runners.
Jahmei Wyatt was next for the Eagles in 22:57, just ahead of freshman
Brianna Benton in 23:12.2.
Saidai Stuteley took fourth for CSU in 24:51.4 while
Destinee Mcleod was next in 31:37.0.
Coppin returns to action on Saturday, September 24 at the UMES Farm Run in Princess Anne, Md.
