BALTIMORE – Coppin State's Andrea Tsvetanova has been named to the VolleyballMag.com All-America Team, it was announced by the publication late last week.  Tsvetanova is the second Eagles player in as many years to earn All-America accolades from the magazine (Miajavon Coleman) and joins Howard's Rya McKinnon as the only MEAC players on the All-America Team.

A senior from Sofia, Bulgaria, Tsvetanova led the NCAA in total aces (114) and aces per set (0.86) while ranking first in the MEAC in total assists (1,198) and second in assists per set (9.08).  Tsvetanova was also among the MEAC leaders in digs per set (2.30) and added 47 blocks while leading the Eagles to a school-record 1,535 kills. Her 114 aces and 1,198 assists are both CSU single-season records and she earned MEAC Co-Setter of the Year and First Team All-Conference accolades for her efforts.

Tsvetanova's 114 aces were the second-most ever by a MEAC player and tied for the third-most by a player in the NCAA since a 25-point set system was adopted in 2008. Her 0.86 aces per set were the fourth-most in the NCAA since 2008. In the MEAC Quarterfinals against South Carolina State, Tsvetanova tied an NCAA record with 15 service aces in a three-set match.

On the way to her numerous postseason accolades, Tsvetanova was a six-time MEAC Setter of the Week, was named MVP of the Liberty University Tournament on September 17 and to the MEAC Championship All-Tournament Team. Tsvetanova recorded 13 matches with at least 40 assists and 14 double-doubles, both of which led the MEAC.

In just two seasons at Coppin, Tsvetanova already holds the Coppin State record with 165 aces while ranking third with 2,028 assists. Tsvetanova ranks just outside the CSU top ten with 529 digs.

Coppin State won a school-record 23 matches and 11 non-conference matches en route to its second MEAC Regular Season title in the last three years.  The Eagles advanced to the MEAC Championship Match and received its first postseason bid with a trip to the NIVC where they fell in five sets at Wake Forest.
