Softball Finalizes 2023 Season Schedule Featuring 46 Games

BALTIMORE – Coppin State's 2023 softball schedule has been finalized, it was announced by head coach Ashley Cook on Friday afternoon.  The docket features 46 games and a pair of early-season tournaments at Towson and James Madison University.
 
The Eagles open the season at the DeMarini Tiger Clash, hosted by Towson on March 4-5 where they will face Bucknell for a pair of games, Bryant and the host Tigers.  Three days later, Coppin will head down I-95 for a doubleheader at George Washington University before the three-day JMU Dukes Invitational on March 10-12.  Accompanying CSU at JMU will be Fairleigh Dickinson for two games, the host Dukes, Saint Joseph's and Radford.

Following another doubleheader at George Mason on March 15, Coppin welcomes crosstown rival Morgan State for its home and MEAC opener on March 18-19.
 
Coppin will also host MEAC series' against Howard (March 25-26), Maryland Eastern Shore (April 7-8) and North Carolina Central (April 22-23) while making visits to Norfolk State (April 1-2), Delaware State (April 15-16) and South Carolina State (April 29-30).
 
Elsewhere on the non-conference slate is a home doubleheader against Saint Peter's while the Eagles will travel to UMBC (March 22), Mount St. Mary's (March 28), Georgetown (April 11), Delaware (April 19), Maryland (April 26) and Rider (May 2).  Matchups against the Hoyas and Terrapins are single games.
 
CSU advanced to the MEAC Semifinals in 2022 and will look to go even farther at the 2023 MEAC Tournament on May 10-13 in Norfolk, Va.
