BALTIMORE – Coppin State University head bowling coach
Shaunita Middleton announced on Monday afternoon that
Temira White has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Eagles during the 2021-22 season on Monday afternoon. White is the second athlete to commit to the Eagles bowling team for the upcoming season, joining Jalyne Myers who signed in January.
A native of Freehold, N.J., White led Freehold Township High School to three-straight State Titles (2018-2020) and four Sectional Championships. As a junior, White finished ninth individually at the State Championships.
"Temira, also known as 'T,' even with her accolades, hasn't even scratched the surface of her full potential on the lanes and that makes me extremely excited as a coach because there's definitely more to see," said Middleton. "She's hungry and eager to advance her game to an even greater level of play, and with her dedication and hard work she's willing to invest, Temira will flourish at the collegiate level. We are lucky to have her and can't wait to get her on campus and start working."
White on Choosing Coppin: I am excited to call Coppin State my home for the next chapter of my life. After talking with Coach Middleton about the bowling program, I felt like I was walking into a family and after seeing all that Coppin had to offer, it just made sense to become an Eagle.
The Eagles are coming off a season where they won three matches against nationally ranked opponents and were named a NTCA All-Academic Team.
