Ithaca, NY- The Big Apple was not nice to Coppin State Men's Basketball team as they fell to Cornell 92-77 Friday Night inside the Newman Arena.
Coppin State moves to 1-11, while Cornell improves to 7-1.
Coppin State got 25 points, four rebounds and three assists from
Jesse Zarzuela and 23 more with 12 rebounds from
Tyree Corbett.
Mike Hood (10 points) was also in double figures, while
Nendah
Tarke (eight points, 10 rebounds, four steals) narrowly missed a double-double. Coppin State shot 39 percent from the floor, made 10 3-pointers on 29 percent shooting.

The Big Red opened the first half up 12 with 11:47 left in the half. A jumper by Corbett gave the Eagles a score of 30-16 with 8:43 left in the half. The Eagles kept fighting and saw the Big Red only leading by ten after a three from
Daniel Titus made the score 44-33 with 3:29 left to play. Cornell finished the half up 20 (55-33).

A layup by Tarke to start the second half cut into Cornell's lead. The Eagles managed to get within 13, trailing 67-54 after made free-throw attempts from Corbett. CSU kept fighting but could not get over the hump as Cornell went up 21, 75-54 with 10:04 remaining in the game. Two huge threes from Zarzuela helped the Eagles get within 15 with 6:11 left to play. The Big Red put the final nail in the coffin with another scoring run and finished the game with a 15-point advantage.

The Eagles will continue its road swing taking on George Washington in D.C. December 8 at 6:30 pm inside the Charles E. Smith Center.
