NORFOLK, Va. – Mossi Staples from the Coppin State women's basketball team was named the MEAC Player of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Staples helped Coppin State remain unbeaten at home so far this season in a win over Saint Francis, pouring in 14 points on 5-for-9 shooting, while also dishing out three assists and grabbing a pair of steals. She also dropped 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting, including three 3-pointers, against East Carolina, where she also had three assists and two steals. For the week, Staples shot a combined 9-for-16 (.563) from the floor.
The Eagles are back in action December 4 traveling to Huntington, West Virginia to take on Marshall. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm inside Cam Henderson Center.
