CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Coppin State Men's basketball team fell short to Virginia after a hard battle, on Friday night, with a final score of 68-52 at the John Paul Jones Arena.

Daniel Titus led all players with a season-high 17 points and went 4-fo- 6 from beyond the arch.Â
Sitah Conteh was the Eagles second leading scorer with 10 points and made all three of his three-point field goals.Â
Nendah Tarke added eight points and a team-high of four steals, while
Kyle Cardaci made prominent defensive plays, tallying three steals.
Tyree Corbett recorded a team-high of five rebounds along with five points.Â
Greg Spurlock added offensive momentum off the bench with six points and two assists in eight minutes of play.  As a team, the Eagles outnumbered Virginia in steals with eight steals.    Â
After a slow start in the beginning of the first half, Titus and Corbett put the Eagles into a nine-point run, including two layups from Corbett, and two jumpers from Titus.Â
Jesse Zarzuela maintained the Eagles offensive momentum with four points, while Titus scored nine of the Eagles 20 points in the first half. Coppin's defensive tenacity was consistent throughout the first half, with Tarke tallying three of Coppin's seven first half steals.     Â
In the second half, the Eagles started strong, as Conteh and Tarke scored 13 straight points for the Eagles, including back-to-back threes by Conteh and back-to-back layups by Tark, which turned an 18 point deficit to a nine point Virginia lead. The Cavaliers responded with an 8-0 run, until Spurlock came in the game and hit a big three followed by two trips to the free-throw line within the following two possessions. Â Shortly after, the Cavaliers proceeded to take a 15Â -point lead to secure the win with a final score of 68-52.

The Eagles will be back in action, November 22nd verses Cleveland State, at 7pm as part of the Cerebro Sports Lake Erie Challenge in the Wolstein Arena.Â
