NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2021 Volleyball All-Academic Selections and Coppin State saw eight student-athletes honored.
All together a total of 65 student-athletes from the conferences eight institutions achieved academic success during the 2020-21 academic year.
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
"I want to congratulate our women's volleyball student-athletes for maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average," MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas said. "The ultimate goal is to develop and graduate our student-athletes to be productive citizens in our society."
Coppin State's athletes were
Khala Cameron, Miajavon Coleman, Demia Goddard, Rebekka Hauri, Sydney Hicks, Ashley Roman, Sydney Sheppard and
Aislynn Weaver.
The Eagles will compete in the MEAC Volleyball Tournament, November 19-21 with the first round taking place on Friday, November 19. Coppin is the No. 3 seed and will face off against Norfolk State at 8 p.m. inside Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C.
