Coppin (8-7, 2-1 MEAC) swept archrival Morgan State, 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 27-25) last Friday at the Bears' Hill Field House.
Paola Caten led Coppin with 12 kills on .290 hitting and added five digs and two aces while
Miajavon Coleman added nine kills and seven digs. Middle hitters

Jordan Celestine pitched in with six kills apiece and

Andrea Tsvetanova led all players with 34 assists as Coppin outhit Morgan, .180 to .160, and

Senior
Miajavon Coleman continues to close in on the school-record for career kills as her 1,217 rank third in CSU history. She needs just seven kills to pass
Ariel Richard ('14) for second on the all-time list while
Cindy Okpegbue ('15) owns the record with 1,252 kills.
Jordan Celestine ranks fourth all-time at Coppin with 210 career blocks and needs 22 more to pass former teammate Christa Johnson ('18) third. Quickly moving up the ranks in digs is junior
Ashley Roman as she passed both
Glorines Rosado ('17) and
Andrea McGant ('06) last game and now ranks second with 1,094 digs. Roman will continue to gain ground on all-time leader
Gabrielle Otero ('14) who recorded a school-record 1,669 career digs.
Scouting Norfolk State
The Spartans fell to Delaware State last Sunday 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-20) at DSU's Memorial Hall. Shonte Seal had six kills and Paola Matos chipped in with four. Nicole Rodriguez had 12 digs. Norfolk State is led by Seal who leads the team with 141 kills followed by Rachel Williams with 123. Caris Cross leads in assists with 417 and Nicole Rodriguez leads in digs with 258. Grace Teeter leads the teams in blocks (42.0).
Howard at a Glance
Howard defeated Norfolk State last Friday, Oct.1 in straight sets (25-14, 25-9, 25-14) after recording a season-high 19 service aces. Senior Busisiwe Banda led the way with a match-leading 11 service aces. The Bison are led by Bria Woodard who leads the teams in kills with 153 followed by Cimone Woodard with 118. Kayla Diaz leads the team in assists with 296 and Essence Bell leads in digs (193). Woodard also leads the team in blocks with 47.0.
