WHITEWATER, Wisc. – Coppin State's
Jazzleen McRae was named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team, it was announced by the organization earlier today. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have at least a 3.40 GPA for the academic year. This season, 380 honorees from 69 different schools received the honor.
A junior from Newark, N.J., McRae averaged a career-high 161.12 pins per traditional match this season, recording 5,478 pins in 34 games. McRae had a high game of 234, a career-high, in a victory over Norfolk State in MEAC #1 on November 9.
In 89 career matches, McRae has averaged a 155.87 in traditional matches.
Coppin won a school-record 38 matches this season and qualified for its first MEAC Tournament since the 2013-14 campaign.
