How It Happened

  • Derek Lohr cut the deficit in half with a RBI single in the fifth which drove in Brandon Watkins from second after he singled to lead off the frame.
  • It remained a one-run game until Coppin tied it up in the eighth on a RBI triple to right center by Conner Walker which allowed Nazier McIlwain to score all of the way from first with one out.
  • CSU threatened to take the lead but Walker was thrown out at home after Ryan McWilliams laid down a bunt towards the pitcher.
  • Georgetown retook the lead with two runs in the ninth and Coppin managed just one run in its final at bat as McIlwain drove in Justin Banks with a base knock to right.  Banks had a one-out double earlier in the inning.
