WASHINGTON, D.C. – Coppin State's
Jordan Celestine was named to the MEAC Volleyball All-Tournament Team, it was announced by the league office late Sunday night.
In two matches, Celestine recorded 14 kills with just one error to hit .619 for the Tournament. Celestine also had six blocks and four digs.
A native of Stockbridge, Ga., Celestine opened the tournament with six kills on ten swings in a four-set victory over No. 2 North Carolina Central. Celestine also had three blocks, including one solo in the Battle of the Eagles. The following night at top-seeded Howard, Celestine hit an errorless .727 with eight kills on 11 swings and added another three blocks along with a career-high for digs.
For the season, Celestine finished second on the team with 164 kills and 58 blocks while ranking third with a .233 hitting percentage.
