BALTIMORE – Coppin State's volleyball team hit a season-high .410 and held the Bulldogs to a .062 percentage in a 3-0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-11) MEAC victory over South Carolina State Sunday afternoon at PEC Arena.

First Set
- The teams traded points and were tied at 3-3 before Coppin scored four-straight with kills from Jordan Celestine, Salma Gonzalez and Sydney Hicks.
- South Carolina State pulled to within three at 8-5, but that was as close as it would get the remainder of the frame.
- Back-to-back aces from Ashley Roman forced a timeout at 14-8 and the 11-point final margin matched Coppin's largest lead of the set.
Second Set
- Coppin raced out to a 6-0 lead behind three kills from Miajavon Coleman and the Bulldogs finally got on the board with a service error.
- The visitors called timeout after back-to-back kills from Brianna Lang and Salma Gonzalez but it did not stop CSU's momentum.
- The lead stayed at six points and after a Bulldogs kill made it a 12-7 score, Coppin scored the final 13 points to take the frame, 25-7.
- Coleman hit .875 in the set with seven kills on eight swings while Jordan Celestine added five more.
Third Set
- The Bulldogs scored the first two points of the set but Coppin regrouped and used a 7-0 run to go up 13-6.
- South Carolina State got no closer than 13-8 the remainder of the way.
- Christa Johnson recorded a pair of kills on a 4-0 run to make it 17-8 and the Eagles closed it out on a 4-0 run which included a pair of kills from Paola Caten.
Inside the Numbers
- Miajavon Coleman led all players with 13 kills while hitting .500 for the match while Jordan Celestine added nine kills and a match-high three blocks.
- Salma Gonzalez and Brianna Lang had five and four kills, respectively, without committing an error to hit a combined .600. Lang also assisted on 30 of the Eagles' 37 kills.
- Coppin recorded ten service aces, half of which came from Paola Caten while Ashley Roman added a pair while being credited with a match-high 12 digs. Caten also added seven digs.
