FREDERICK, Md. – Aushia McLean (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) averaged 183.20 to finish 18
th out of 102 individuals to lead the Coppin State bowling team to a 10
th place finish out of 16 teams at the Mount St. Mary's Shootout at Terrace Lanes this weekend. The Eagles picked up five victories during the weekend and ranked ahead of Felician, Chestnut Hill, Medaille, Roberts Wesleyan, Mercyhurst and MEAC rival Morgan State.
Traditional matches were played on Saturday and Coppin won its first three matches of the day with victories over Felician (867-788), Medaille (872-822) and Mercyhurst (862-775). After the 3-0 start, the Eagles fell to Chestnut Hill, 923-804, and Daemen, 951-853.
Sunday started with Baker matches and CSU edged Wilmington, 886-885, to start the day before falling to Youngstown State, 991-876. Coppin got revenge on Chestnut Hill in bracket play before falling to St. Francis (Pa.).
McLean totaled 916 pins in five traditional matches to average a 183.20 for the tournament. A senior from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., McLean recorded a 217 against Felician and followed with a 194 against Medaille.
Kaylah Castillo was next in line for the Eagles, finishing with a 174.40 average which was good for 34
th place. Castillo's high game was a 200 against Mercyhurst.

st overall was
Mya Hamlett with an average of 170.20 which included a 194 against Felician to start the tournament.
Freshman
Raja Anderson was Coppin's fourth top finisher with a 166.00 average in her four matches. Anderson's top match was a 185 against Medaille.
Rounding out the top five for the Eagles was
Nia Turner who put together an average of 163.00 in four matches, topping out at 172 against Daeman.
Sydney Tyler competed in a pair of matches and averaged a 151.50 with a 166 coming against Mercyhurst.
The Eagles return to action on November 1-3 at the Virginia Union Invitational at Bowl America in Glen Allen, Va.
