WASHINGTON, D.C. – Coppin State's volleyball team stayed competitive in each set but fell to MEAC-leading Howard University, 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-21) on Sunday afternoon at Burr Gymnasium.

First Set
- Miajavon Coleman got Coppin out to a great start with a pair of kills to open the match, but Howard responded with four-straight to take a 4-2 lead.
- The Eagles were able to tie the score back up four times, but the Bison went on another 4-0 run to go up 12-8.
- Howard extended its lead to as many as 18-11 but CSU did not go down without a fight, cutting the deficit to 23-21 and forcing a Bison timeout.
- HU scored two of the next three points to take the set.
Second Set
- Once again, Coppin got out to a 2-0 lead which was overcame by a run by the hosts.
- CSU forced multiple ties and even retook a lead at 19-18 after a kill by Brianna Lang and a block by Miajavon Coleman and Jordan Celestine.
- Three-straight points by Howard gave the Bison a 21-19 advantage but CSU tied the score back up at 22-22.
- A pair of kills by HU forced a match-point at 24-22, but a kill by Coleman and a block by Christa Johnson and Salma Gonzalez tied the score back at 24-22.
- The Bison scored the next two points to win, 26-24
Third Set
- Howard scored the first five points of the set, but Coppin answered with four-straight as Christa Johnson recorded a kill and a block.
- The Bison used a 4-0 run midway through to extend its lead to 14-9 and Coppin got no closer than three points the remainder of the way, as HU won, 25-21.
