NORFOLK, Va. – For the fifth time of 2018-19, Coppin State women's basketball's Chance Graham has been named the MEAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.  She is earning the honor for the seventh time of her prestigious career and fifth over the course of the year.

In home contests with Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman last week, Graham averaged 19 rebounds, three blocks and two steals while recording her 11th and 12th double-doubles of the campaign.

In the win over Florida A&M on Saturday, Graham pulled down 22 rebounds which marked the third time she's accomplished that feat this year.  Against the Rattlers, Graham also tied a career-high with four blocks while scoring 13 points, nabbing 3 steals and an assist.  Two days later versus Bethune-Cookman, she had 16 boards, 16 points, two blocks and a steal.

A forward from Upper Marlboro, Md., Graham already ranks fourth in Coppin history with 793 rebounds and needs 33 more to tie Larrisa Carter (826) for third. She is currently tied with Karen Russell for 18th on the Coppin State scoring list with 912 points for the Lady Eagles.

Graham's presence is littered all over the national leader boards, as she places inside the top-20 in eight different categories and appears on 15 different rankings in total. She currently sits 4th on the Coppin State career rebounding list with 793 and is projected to obliterate the current record of 908 held by Rene' Doctor. The Preseason All-MEAC 1st-Teamer is among the nation's elite in defensive rebounds per game (9), double-doubles (12), free throw attempts (166), free throws made (120), total rebounds (236) and rebounds per game (11.8). The Junior paces the Eagles in major categories of rebounds (236), steals (43), and blocks (30) to go along with being second on the squad in points per game (16.5).

The Coppin State women will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as bitter rivals Morgan State invade the PEC Arena. Tip-off will commence at 2 p.m.
