BALTIMORE, Md. –  Coppin State University's volleyball team will take part in four early season tournaments as well as co-hosting a MEAC North/South Crossover Invitational as head coach
Tim Walsh announced the Eagles 2018 schedule on Thursday afternoon.Â

After finishing with a 4-26 record with all four victories coming in conference play, Walsh has revamped his roster with his first recruiting class at Coppin which kicks off the season on August 24-25 at the UNC Asheville Tournament. The Eagles take on the host Bulldogs in the opening match on August 24 at 7 pm followed by matches against Appalachian State and The Citadel.Â

Following a neutral site matchup against Saint Peter's at Morgan State on August 29, the Eagles will travel to Lehigh University and Lafayette College as they co-host a tournament (8/31-/9-1), before heading to the Hampton Inn-vitational at Bryant University (9/7-8) and the GW/Georgetown Tournament (9/14-15).

Coppin will host MEAC South opponent North Carolina Central in its home opener on Friday, September 21 as part of the North/South Crossover Invitational at 2 pm. The Eagles will also host South Carolina State later that night at 7 pm. North Carolina A&T will also come to the PEC Arena on September 22 at 1 pm.

After one last non-conference matchup at UMBC on September 25 before entering conference play at Norfolk State on September 28, the Eagles will also have non-conference home tilts against Rider on October 7 and Bethune-Cookman of the MEAC South on October 19. Coppin will also visit NJIT on October 22 and Fairleigh Dickinson on October 31.

Arch-nemesis Morgan State marks the first conference home match for the Navy & Gold on October 4. Coppin also hosts its annual Pink Night on October 12 against defending North Division Champion Maryland Eastern Shore with Senior Night coming on October 26 against Norfolk State.

CSU will wrap up the season with three-straight road games at MEAC opponents Morgan State (Nov. 4), Maryland Eastern Shore (Nov. 9) and Delaware State (Nov. 11).
