NORFOLK, Va. – The Coppin State men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision at MEAC rival Norfolk State on Monday afternoon at NSU Tennis Complex.
Norfolk earned victories at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to earn the doubles point while the top Eagles duo of
Jorge Rodriguez Rey and
Gavin Lewis kept close to avoid a defeat.
With a 1-0 lead, the Spartans recorded singles wins in the second, third and sixth slots to get the necessary four points to win. Rodriguez Rey won three games in a first set loss at No. 1 singles and was trailing by a 2-1 margin in the second while NSU got the three singles wins.
Gabriel Franca took a pair of games in the second set in his loss in the third position.
CSU closes out the regular season when it hosts Navy on Wednesday, April 18 at 12 pm.
