BALTIMORE, Md. – Jorge Rodriguez Rey earned a victory at No. 1 singles in Coppin State's men's tennis' season finale against Navy on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles, who fell, 6-1, wrap up the season with a 1-11 record.
After dropping the first set, 6-1, Rodriguez Rey rallied to win the second set, 6-4 to tie the match. Rodriguez Rey then went on to win the deciding set, 10-7, to collect CSU's lone point of the afternoon.
Rodriguez Rey also paired with
Gavin Lewis in the top singles spot and was edged by a narrow, 7-6 margin. Navy also managed wins in the second and third doubles positions to take a commanding, 3-0 lead.
Gabriel Franca won a pair of games in the second positon while Lewis stayed competitive despite a 6-3, 6-4 loss.
