Baltimore, MD - Coppin volleyball (0-13) lost to Maryland Eastern Shore 3-0 (15-25, 21-25, 12-25) and Campbell University 3-0 (19-25, 10-25, 16-25) today at the Henson Hawk Invite.  The Eagles were led by by 
Bailee Jackson (6 kills, 1 block, 5 digs), 
Glorines Rosado (3 assists, 10 digs), 
Elanna Nellis (4 kills, 1 ace, 1 block) and 
Angel Jamerson (16 digs) in game one.  In game two, 
Asia Stennis (7 kills, 1 ace, 3 blocks), and Jamerson (1 ace, 2 blocks, 15 assists, 6 digs), paced the Eagles statistically.
MATCH ONE RECAP (15-25, 21-25, 12-25)
Coppin jumped out to a 6-4 lead after scoring three straight points that included kills by 
Christa Johnson and 
Marlena Guice from Jamerson.  The Lady Eagles would increase that lead to 11-9, but the Hawks of Eastern Shore (7-3) would go on a 16-4 run to take the first set.  The second set saw both teams battle and trade leads, but Coppin had a one point favor at 14-13 after a Valiyah Barnes kill. Maryland Eastern Shore would take the lead and Coppin would stay within two points until the Hawks scored 5 of the last 7 points of the set to down the Eagles.  Maryland Eastern Shore jumped to a 15-6 lead and Coppin would not recover as they would be outscored 10-7 to close out the set and match.
 
MATCH TWO RECAP (19-25, 10-25, 16-25)
Campbell (8-4) opened up to a 8-0 to start the first set. Coppin would fly back into the match and eventually take an 18-17 lead behind the service of Stennis. Campbell would regroup and outscore Coppin 8-1 to win the first set. Campbell would keep the momentum going into the second set and start with a commanding 15-4 lead.  The Camels would cruise on to take the second set 25-10.  The Lady Eagles stayed within two points early on in the third set before Campbell separated themselves from Coppin and won the set 25-16.
