PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Coppin State University's volleyball team dropped a three set (25-23, 25-19, 25-15) decision to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival Maryland-Eastern Shore on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks are now 24-7 on the season with a perfect 10-0 mark in the MEAC.
Bailee Jackson led Coppin (4-24, 4-7 MEAC) offensively with nine kills while
Asia Stennis chipped in with seven.
Dominique Madarang added 23 assists on the day as the Eagles hit .120 for the game.
Defensively,
Glorines Rosado led the way with 12 digs.
Coppin led for a good portion of the opening set and held a 19-15 lead before the Hawks scored five-straight to take the lead. A kill by Jackson tied the score at 20 but MDES scored the next two and never looked back.
Maryland Eastern Shore led from start to finish in the second, and after the first couple points in the third held the outright lead.
The Eagles return to action on Friday, November 10 when they travel to Rider University for a non-conference tilt before a pivotal regular season finale at crosstown Morgan State on Sunday, November 12.
