MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Junior
Guro Froberg was the only Coppin State Eagle to net double figure kills (11) while finishing with her first double-double of the year with 13 digs, in straight-sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-21) defeat to St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, September 4 at the Sewall Center.
In their second match of the day Coppin State (0-7) went down in three sets despite posting double digit kills in each of the sets. The Red Flash (3-4) held a slight advantage over the Eagles in team kills (41-34) but were very poised and escaped each set with a victory.
Guro Froberg posted a .147 attack percentage on a team-high 11 kills. She has three consecutive games with double-digit kills and notched her second double-digit digs effort with 13.
Freshman
Dominique Madarang continued her strong start in her rookie campaign with a third straight match netting a double-double. Madarang paced the Eagles with 24 assists and ten digs. Junior
Glorines Rosado was the third Eagle to have double-digit digs finishing with 12 of CSU's 50 total digs.
Coppin State looks to bounce back with a mid-week match at American University in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, September 6 at 7 p.m.
