WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Bailee Jackson posted her second double-double of the season with 12 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 (25-8, 37-35, 25-11) setback to Charlotte on Saturday, Sept. 10 in Kaplan Arena.
The 49ers dominated set one with a .391 attack percentage registering 12 kills. Coppin State's offense got off to a sluggish start with only three kills in the first set with nine errors. The score was tied only once with the Eagles trailing majority of the way and Charlotte cruised to a 25-8 win.
Junior
Bailee Jackson anchored the Eagles attack in set two with eight kills. Coppin State came out in the second set with a totally different attitude exploding for 20 team kills while the 49ers only had 18. Junior

Asia Stennis paced the defense combining for 19 digs defending the Charlotte attack. Both teams battled with 18 tied scores and 11 lead changes, but in the end Charlotte took a 2-0 match lead with a 37-35 win in set two.
Coppin State failed to bring the same intensity into the third set that was brought in the second ultimately suffering a 25-11 loss. After 20 kills in the previous set the Eagles only managed five kills and committed seven errors. Freshman
Kennedy Curtis and Jackson each had two kills but Charlotte were the aggressive team on offense posting a .345 attack percentage. The Eagles fall to 0-10 while the 49ers improve to 4-4 overall record.

Glorines Rosado collected her seventh double-digit dig effort with 15.
Asia Stennis finished with a season-high 13 digs and four blocks assisted.
The Eagles return to the court at 7 p.m. today for a matchup against tournament host William & Mary in Kaplan Arena.
