BETHLEHEM- Coppin State infielder
Jamar Criss crushed his first collegiate home run against Lehigh University on Wednesday, April 6 at Legacy Park in Bethlehem, PA.

Darien Percell scored one run and recorded a triple crown going 3-for-3 at the plate for the Eagles.

Fellow senior outfielder
John Kraft registered two hits, one RBI and scored one run for Coppin.

Overall, Coppin State (5-21) picked up four hits in the 10-4 setback to Lehigh.

Criss blasted his homer over the left field fence in the opening inning of play to put Coppin State on the board first.

Junior infielder
Bryant Miranda followed with a single through the left side for the Eagles second hit of the first inning.

The Mountain Hawks answered scoring one run to tie the ballgame 1-1 at the end of the first inning.

Freshman designated hitter Nazier McIlwain singled to right center to lead off the top of the second inning.

Senior infielder
Darien Percell followed with a single through the left side advancing McIlwain and recording the Eagles third hit of the game.

John O'Dwyer reached on a fielder's choice bunt, advancing Percell to second.

John Kraft singled to the pitcher to load the bases for Coppin State.

Lehigh took the lead scoring two runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning.

Darien Percell tripled to right field to lead off the fourth inning.

John O'Dwyer walked in the next at bat, then
John Kraft knocked a RBI single up the middle bringing home Percell.
Â
Criss tied the game at 3-3 with a RBI groundout, scoring O' Dwyer.

The Mountain Hawks erupted with seven runs in the next four innings to take a 10-3 lead.

In the top of the eighth inning freshman infielder
Erik Crossman singled to left field for the Eagles eighth hit of the game.
Darien Percell picked up hit number three with a double to left field to close the inning for Coppin State.

The final inning
John Kraft reached on an error by the first baseman and advanced to second.
Â
Kraft stole third base, his seventh of the season, which is tied the team lead.
Â
Kraft then scored the Eagles final run of the game on a Criss RBI groundout to the shortstop.

Freshman
Andrew O'Dwyer led the Eagles threw 3.0 innings, retired three batters and bringing his season total to 16.

Delvin McFadden,
Desean Rabb and Kraft all fanned one batter apiece.

Coppin State will host MEAC opponent UMES for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 9 scheduled for 1:00 p.m. start and closing game on Sunday, April 10 at noon. All games will be held at Joe Cannon Stadium.Â
