James Sylvester scored a career best 25 points in the Eagles 72-63 overtime road Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) loss to Savannah State on Monday night February 8 in Tiger Arena in Savannah, Ga.

Coppin State (5-18, 3-7) has now lost three consecutive road MEAC games.

Sylvester made a career best five 3-point field goals and sunk all eight of his free throws. He added three rebounds, a team high three steals and one assist in 28 minutes off the bench.

Christian Kessee finished with 18 points and a team best four assists. Kessee made two 3-pointers and added one rebound in a game high 43 minutes of game action.

Trevon Seymore tallied nine points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 31 minutes on the floor.

Freshman
Lucian Brownlee also chipped in nine points on 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Brownlee added two rebounds, one assist and one steal off the bench for the Eagles.

Coppin State recorded nine steals on 15 Savannah State turnovers.

The Eagles outscored the Tigers in the battle of the benches, 34-24.

Savannah State (9-13, 5-6) has now won back-to-back MEAC home games.

Troyce Manassa led the Tigers with 13 points and nine rebounds. Brian Pearson finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Savannah State.
