NORFOLK, VA- Four Eagles scored in double figures in Coppin State men's basketball team 85-77, setback loss to Norfolk State on Monday February 22 in the Joseph G. Echols Hall in Norfolk, VA.

The Coppin State Eagles (7-20, 5-9) are 2-2 in their last four Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) games.

Junior
Christian Kessee led the Eagles with 18 points of five made 3-point field goals. He added two rebounds, an assist and one steal while adding three free throws in 40 minutes of game action.

Joshua Treadwell scored 17 points and eight rebounds. He knocked down two 3-pointers and three free throws in 40 minutes on the floor.

Junior
Mufaro Murinda scored a career best 17 points off the bench. Murinda knocked down a career high four 3-pointers, while going 5-of-10 from the field in 18 minutes.

He sunk all three of his foul shots.

Trevon Seymore tied a career best with eight assists. He also had eight assists in the Eagles first meeting with Norfolk State.

Seymore finished the game with 15 points on seven made field goals, two rebounds, one block and a steal in 40 minutes on the court.

Coppin State started the game on fire, going up by as many as 14 with 9:05 left to play in the first half before a Norfolk State surge locked the game at 30 apiece at halftime.

Jeff Short led Norfolk State (14-14, 10-3) with 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. D'Shon Taylor added 15 points and six rebounds for the Spartans.

Coppin State will return to action Saturday February 27 for its Homecoming matchup against crosstown rival Morgan State. Tipoff is at 4:00 p.m. in the Physical Education Complex.Â
