Eagle Hoops Set To Battle Spartans Live on ESPNU

NORFOLK - Coppin State (7-19, 4-8) takes on Norfolk State (13-14, 9-3) on Monday night in a MEAC game that will be nationally televised on ESPNU. Game time is 9 p.m. (ET). The Spartans lead the overall series 25-11 and have won the last six meetings. The last time the Eagles beat the Spartans was on Jan. 30, 2012 in Norfolk, 87-82.

ABOUT THE EAGLES

· Junior guard Christian Kessee leads the Eagles in points (14.0 ppg), field goals made  (4.6 per game), 3-Point FGs made (2.5 per game), free throw percent (80.3 %), and in minutes (31.2). He scored in double figures 18 times this season and in five consecutive games. Five times this season he has made four or more three-pointers in a game. He tied a career-high scoring 27 points twice in the month of February.
 
HARRIS HITS THE BOARDS
· Junior forward Terry Harris, Jr. averages 7.0 rebounds per game. Eleven times this season he grabbed double digit rebounds and has eight double-double performances. In MEAC games, the Eagles are 4-1 when Coppin State wins the rebounding battle and are 0-7 when the opponents have more.
 
EAGLES ON THE ROAD
· Coppin State holds a 2-13 record when playing on the road this season. The Eagles only road wins of the season came in back-to-back MEAC games against Bethune Cookman and Florida A&M. CSU has loss three road MEAC games thus far; Morgan State, South Carolina State, and Savannah State.

Christian Kessee scored 18 of his 27 points in the first half by knocking down 4-of-5 attempts from three point range and 7-of-9 shots from the field. He finished with seven rebounds and a pair of assists in the Eagles largest win margin of the season (90-66).
 
MOST REBOUNDS IN A GAME: Terry Harris, 14 rebounds, Bethune Cookman (Jan. 16, 2015)
Terry Harris Jr., led the way in the Eagles first MEAC  win of the season with 14 rebounds against Bethune Cookman. Harris tallied seven offensive and seven defensive boards.
 
MOST ASSISTS IN A GAME: Trevon Seymore, 8 assists, vs. Norfolk State (Dec. 7, 2015)
Trevon Seymore dished out a career high eight assists in the Eagles setback to the Spartans. He added three points, four rebounds and one steal in a team high 34 minutes played.
 
MOST STEALS IN A GAME: Keith Shivers, 4 steals, vs. Maryland Eastern Shore (Jan. 30, 2016)
