BALTIMORE- Four players scored in double figures in the Coppin State as the Eagles defeated the North Carolina Central Eagles 71-60 Thursday night in the Physical Education Complex.

The Coppin State Eagles (7-19, 5-8) is now 3-4 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) home games.

Junior
Christian Kessee led the Eagles with 21 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc. He added three rebound, three assists and a steal in 36 minutes of game action. Kessee went a perfect 4-of-4 from the foul line.

Joshua Treadwell notched 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, including knocking down 4-of-7 shots from 3-point land. Treadwell came just short of a double double recording nine rebounds, five assists and one steal in 38 minutes on the floor.

Terry Harris Jr., recorded his eight double double of the season finishing the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Harris Jr., made two 3-pointers and sunk three of his four foul shots.

Trevon Seymore led the Eagles with six assists. He tallied 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and 5-of-7 from the charity stripe. Seymore added five rebounds and a steal in a team high 40 minutes.

The Coppin State starters score 69 of the team's 71 points.

CSU shot 54.5% from long distance nailing 12 of their 22 3-point field goal attempts.

The Eagles also won the battle of the boards 39-34, while scoring 7 points off 12 North Carolina Central turnovers.

Coppin State's biggest lead of the game was by 15 in the first half. The Eagles closed the first half on a 13-8 run, highlighted by seven straight points by Treadwell. North Carolina Central never led in the game.

Dante Holmes led North Carolina Central (10-16, 5-7) with 24 points and four assists. Kyle Benton added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.

Coppin State will return to action Monday February 22 when they travel to Norfolk, VA to square off to Norfolk State Spartans in Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. This will be a televised game shown on ESPNU.Â
