BALTIMORE, Md. – Junior
Glorines Rosado had her fourth 20+ dig performance of the season in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 24-21) loss to rival Morgan State University on Friday, October 14
th in the Hill Field House.
The Eagles fall to 1-19 overall record with a 1-5 MEAC conference record. The Bears improve to 4-16 overall and 4-2 in the MEAC.
Coppin State defense was carried by
Glorines Rosado's 21 digs which was Coppin State's fourth highest individual mark of the season. The Eagles tallied 49 total digs and came up with three blocks. Freshmen
Dominique Madarang and
Christa Johnson each had solo blocks against Morgan State. Johnson recorded her first solo block of the season while Madarang had a season-best two blocks and also paced the CSU offense with 15 assists and nine digs.
Freshman
Jasmine Lougheed anchored the offense with a team-high six kills. Junior
Guro Froberg added five kills and eight digs and junior
Valiyah Barnes finished with four kills and a block.
Morgan State posted a .225 attack percentage against the Eagles with Natashia Barker finishing with a match-high 17 kills. Coppin State finished with 25 kills for a .076 attack percentage, but came up with double figure kills in the second set with ten.
The Eagles are on a current two game skid after picking up their first win of the season a week ago at Delaware State. Coppin State will host Howard University in their annual Dig Pink Match on Sunday, Oct. 16
th at 3 p.m. in the PEC Auxiliary Gym.
