Lady Eagles Looking to Keep Win Streak Going at Bethune-Cookman

ABOUT THE EAGLES

Genesis Lucas played tenacious defense all game long. Lucas compiled 13 points, three assists and two rebounds on 5-of-7 from the field including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
 
Omaah Tayong came up just short of her third consecutive double double with 10 points and nine rebounds on 4-of-8 accuracy shooting off the bench.

ABOUT BETHUNE-COOKMAN
The Bethune-Cookman women's basketball team used a come-from-behind performance to pull off a 53-45 victory over the Norfolk State Spartans on Monday night (Jan. 11), in Echols Hall.
 
Redshirt junior Kailyn Williams (New Orlenas, La.) led the way during the come-back victory, finishing with her fifth double-double of the season while pouring in 10 points, pulling down 15 boards and swatting six Spartan shots.
 
In addition to Williams 15 rebounds, fellow junior Taylor Houston (Raleigh, N.C.) collected seven while Jasmine Knowles (Romulus, Mich.) dished a team-best four assists.
 
WHATS DOWN THE ROAD
Coppin State heads to Tallahassee, Fla. on Monday, Jan. 18 for their third consecutive MEAC away contest with a matchup against Florida A&M. The Rattlers last hosted the Eagles two seasons ago on Feb. 15, 2014 where Coppin State suffered an 83-80, defeat. The teams faced each other last year with Coppin State securing a 70-65 win on Jan. 19, 2015 in Baltimore, Md. The Eagles have recorded a 23-18 all-time record against Florida A&M.
 
COPPIN STATE ON THE ROAD
The Lady Eagles are 2-6 away from the PEC Arena during the 2015-16 season. Last year Coppin State was 2-13 on the road. Their last road win was January 9 against Howard. The Lady Eagles are 1-0 in MEAC road games this season.

The Lady Eagles last traveled to the state of Florida earlier this season for a matchup against Miami, falling 78-59 to the Hurricanes.

Senior Jordan Swails notched her fourth career double-double with 11 points and a career best 16 rebounds. Swails was an equal opportunity board snatcher, finishing with eight offensive and defensive rebounds.
 
She added two assists, two steals and two blocks.
 
MOST ASSISTS IN A GAME: Genesis Lucas, 7 assists, at Virginia (Dec. 28, 2015)
Genesis Lucas scored four points and a season high seven assists in the setback loss. She also added a steal in 35 minutes of game action.
 
Her seven assists was one shy of her career high. Lucas has now led the Lady Eagles in assists 16 times in her career.
