Box Score BALTIMORE- The Coppin State men's basketball team dropped it's second consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) home game in a 88-56 setback to Norfolk State Monday night in the Physical Education Complex.

It was the Eagles seventh straight loss to Norfolk State, bringing the all-time series to 26-11 since 1983-83 in favor of Norfolk State.

Coppin State (2-6, 0-2 MEAC) never saw a lead after the 16:00 mark of the first half. But won the second chance points battle 13-11.

Keith Shivers scored nine points, grabbed three rebounds and contributed three assists. He has two consecutive games dishing out three assists.

Christian Kessee and
James Sylvester scored eight points apiece. Kessee made two three pointers in five games this season. He leads the Eagles with 14 made 3-pointers through the first seven games.

Sylvester went a 2-of-3 from 3-point range and a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.

Trevon Seymore dished out a career high eight assists in the Eagles setback to the Pirates. He added three points, four rebounds and one steal in a team high 34 minutes played.

This was the Eagles first game without a double-digit scorer.

Overall, four Spartans scored in double figures. Jeff Short led Norfolk State with 20 points and seven rebounds. Charles Oliver poured in 18 points on 4-of-5 shooting from behind the arc.

Coppin State will return to action Wednesday night December 9 for a matchup against Kansas State in Bramlage Coliseum at 8:00 (CT). The Eagles six of the Eagles' next seven games will on the road.Â
