Michael Grant was pleased with how his team competed but acknowleged his teams cold night from the field.Â
Â
"I thought it was a pretty good game for us," said Grant, who is in his second season has head coach. "I think our guys really came out and competed and played hard. We just did not shoot the ball well. For us, to go into a ball game and shoot less than 30 percent and less than 10 percent from the three – we are not going to win a lot of ball games that way."

Coppin State went with a different defensive strategy in Wednesday night's game and ran a zone. Coach Grant has put his focus of the future and how to expand on this defense.
Â
"This is the first opportunity we have had to play a lot of zone this year," Grant said. "I thought they did a pretty good job at it. I think we can really expand on that and try to keep other teams shots off."

Coppin State forced more turnovers than it committed and block more shots than the Wildcats.
