SERIES HISTORYCoppin State faces Mount St. Mary's for the first time since 2002. The Mount leads the all-time series, 3-2, with Coppin State. In their last meeting, the Eagles pulled out an 82-75 victory in the old Coppin Center.
LAST TIME OUTCoppin State (1-6) dropped an 83-43 decision to No. 24 West Virginia in a non-conference contest at WVU Coliseum Saturday afternoon.
Tanaysa Henderson led the team with a career-best 13 points. She scored all of her points in the second half. Henderson was 3-for-3 from three-point range.
Bria Harris totaled 10 points and eight rebounds.
Amber Griffin, who opened the game with a jumper, notched eight points, pulled down a season-high six rebounds, and dished four assists.
Keena Samuels and
Jordan Swails tallied four points apiece.
ABOUT MOUNT ST. MARY'SMembers of the Northeast Conference, Mount St. Mary's fell to Loyola (Md.) on the road, 56-49, Saturday afternoon. Off the bench, freshman Katrice Dickson posted seven of her career-best nine points in the second half. Senior Jacqueline Brewer had eight points and six rebounds. Classmate Jenn Carney notched eight points and four rebounds for the Mount. Sophomore Kathleen Belanger-Finn and junior Jody Chickey added six points each. The back-and-forth battle featured eight lead changes and four ties.
CAREER EFFORTS THIS SEASONTanaysa Henderson posted a career-high 13 points against West Virginia.
Bria Harris and
Janelle Lane scored their career-best point performances against Virginia Union with 21 and 20 points, respectively. Lane also tied her career-high with 10 rebounds.
Keena Samuels earned a career-high 17 points against Wake Forest.
Jordan Swails and
Amber Griffin tied their career-high 16 point performances against N.C. State. Swails also set a new personal single-game rebounding standard with eight boards against the Wolfpack.

Bria Harris continue to lead the Eagles in scoring, averaging 10.7 and 10.1 points per game, respectively. Lane tops the team shooting 45.3 percent from the field. Harris averages 8.6 rebounds per game, a team-best.
COMING UPCoppin State finishes it four-game road trip at the University of Miami Saturday at 1 p.m. This will be the second and final Atlantic Coast Conference foe of the season for the Eagles.
