FAIRFAX, Va. – Coppin State's volleyball team fell to Rutgers, 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-16) on Friday night in the second day of George Mason's Patriot Invitational. The Eagles fell to 6-8 on the season while the Scarlet Knights improved to 8-2.

Ivanna Luna and
Cherisse Atilano all had six kills to lead the Navy & Gold, followed by
Kayden Cupid with four, and both
Andrea Cintron and
Beatriz Cornachini with three apiece.
Cupid led all players with six blocks and hit .444 on nine swings and Luna added three blocks.
Cintron also led the Eagles with 15 assists, but Rutgers outhit them, .299 to .093 on the day.
Azul Pilahg added six assists while
Andrea Serrano and
Coco Figueroa had three apiece.
In the back row, Figueroa had a match-high nine digs.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday, September 20 at 4 pm when they take on Seton Hall at XFINITY Center as part of the Maryland Challenge.
