Volleyball Takes Seton Hall to Four Sets at Maryland Challenge

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Coppin State's volleyball team took Seton Hall to four sets in a 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14) loss on Saturday afternoon at XFINITY Center Pavilion.  The Eagles fell to 6-9 overall while the Pirates improved to 6-5 on the year.
 
Ivanna Luna led Coppin with ten kills, followed by Cherisse Atilano and Payton Swinton with seven, TaKenya Stafford with six and Kayden Cupid with four. Andrea Cintron quarterbacked the offense to a .067 hitting percentage while notching her first career double-double with 17 assists and 11 digs to go with two aces and two kills.
 
Defensively, Coco Figueroa led the way with a match-high 12 digs to go with three aces and eight assists, which was matched by Azul Pilahg. Cupid had a team-high four blocks while Atilano, Swinton and Ahzhi Coleman had two blocks each.
 
Seton Hall had four players with double-digit kills and hit .315 with 12 total blocks.
 
The Eagles open MEAC play at Howard on Friday, September 26 at 6 pm before hosting Norfolk State two days later at 1 pm.
