2020 (Senior): NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List… Made nine starts while appearing in all 13 games at the plate while making four appearances on the mound… Hit .172 (5-for-29) with two runs and an RBI… Recorded a .385 on-base percentage with three walks and being hit by seven pitches to tie the CSU all-time recorded for being plunked… Also stole a base… On the hill, went 1-0 with a 4.32 ERA, striking out seven batters in 8.1 innings… Drove in a run d game two at The Citadel and scored twice with two hits in the series finale… Also had hits in the first and third game at Asheville… Threw pair of innings at Navy and struck out a pair on lone inning at Georgetown… Fanned three while allowing just one run at Lehigh… Allowed just one hit in 2.1 innings at Mount St. Mary’s.

2019 (Junior): Third Team All-MEAC at Third Base while also serving as the team’s closer… NCBWA Preseason Stopper of the Year Watch List… John Olerud Award Watch List… Started in 41 of 44 games, primarily at third base… Hit .280 with 30 runs, 45 hits, six doubles, two home runs and 21 RBI to go with 4 stolen bases… Drew 20 walks and was hit by nine pitches to record a .387 on-base percentage… In conference play, hit .330 with 19 runs, three doubles, a home run and 13 RBI, tallying a .419 on-base percentage… Record 14 multi-hit games with three 3-hit efforts along with four multi-RBI games with a pair of three-RBI games… All three of his 3-hit games came against Maryland Eastern Shore… Had his 3 RBI games against Delaware State and Savannah State… First two home runs came at Charlotte and against Delaware State… MEAC Player of the Week after going 11-for-15 with 8 runs, 2 doubles, 3 RBI, 4 walks and two steals in a midweek at Georgetown before a sweep of UMES… On the mound, went 1-1 with 7 saves and a 2.73 ERA in 19 appearances… Struck out 31 batters to just five walks in 26.1 innings… Struck out the side in a save against Mount St. Mary’s… Struck out five in a pair of innings against Delaware State… Fanned four in another two innings at Savannah State… Threw 2.2 perfect innings with three strikeouts at Maryland Eastern Shore… Had a streak of nine-straight outings without allowing an earned run.


2018 (Sophomore): Second Team All-Black College Nines at relief pitcher… Set a Coppin school-record with eight saves and now owns the school career record in the category… Finished 3-1 with a 4.05 ERA, striking out 32 batters in 33.1 innings…Held batters to a .233 batting average… Dominant on the mound in conference play, recording a 3-0 record with seven saves and a 1.48 ERA… Fanned 24 batters in 24.1 innings… Allowed just one hit in 2.1 innings with three strikeouts in game two against Fordham (3/10)… Picked up a win at MD Eastern Shore, giving up one run on three hits over 3.0 innings (3/18)… Threw four scoreless innings while allowing just one hit in win over Delaware State (3/26)… Got his third win in game two at Norfolk State, going a season-high 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits… Entered the closers role and picked up a five-out save in game one against UMES, striking out three… He also fanned two more in the nightcap to pickup his second save of the day (4/6)… Retired final four batters without allowing a base runner against Norfolk State (4/22)…Struck out four in back-to-back relief appearances against Delaware State (4/29) and in game one at Norfolk State (5/5)… Got his second save of the day in the nightcap at Norfolk State (5/5)… Earned a save against Florida A&M in MEAC Tournament without allowing a baserunner (5/17)… Came up big at the plate as well, hitting .229 with 25 runs scored, seven doubles, three triples and 20 RBI… Drew 24 walks and was hit by a pitch ten times to tally a .396 on-base percentage… Led team with six sacrifice hits and was a perfect 4-for-4 on steals… Had three multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games including three times where he recorded three RBI… Drove in two runs on a single and a walk against NJIT (3/13)… Recorded three RBI in series opener at MD Eastern Shore (3/17)… Had a two-hit game against the Hawks in series finale (3/18)… Went 2-for-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI and 2 walks in series opener against UMES (4/5)… Doubled and tripled while driving in two at UMBC (4/18)… Scored three runs and drove in two in regular season finale vs. UMBC (5/9)… Tripled and walked while driving in a run against North Carolina A&T in MEAC Tournament (5/18).

Corey's career ambition is to become a professional baseball player or and agent for Scott Boras. In high school he played baseball and football. There, he was First Team Big X||| (2015), Second Team Big X||| (2014/2016), and Norco HS MVP (2016). He was also Cal High All State nominee (2015-2016), Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mnetion (2014-2015) and California Region HOnorable Mention (2016).
