STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Coppin State's baseball team was unable to hold on in a 7-6 loss to Wagner on Friday afternoon. The Eagles fell to 9-34 overall and 9-19 in the NEC while the Seahawks moved to 25-20 on the year and 20-8 in league play.
Terrell Milliner went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI while
Nelson Grajales also drove in a pair of runs with a double.
Dillon Kirksey had another quality start on the mound, allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out four in 7.0 innings.
Justin Ritz was charged with the loss, giving up five runs over the final inning.
CSU took an early 1-0 lead on Milliner's RBI triple in the second, easily driving in
Pedro Agosto who was plunked and got to second on a groundout. Wagner got the run back and added another to take a 2-1 lead in the third, but Coppin quickly regained the advantage with a two-run fourth. Grajales grounded out to first but scored
Armando (AJ) Hurtado from third and Milliner followed with an RBI single to bring in Agosto once again.
Grajales added a sacrifice fly in the sixth to give the Eagles a 4-2 lead and Kirksey shut down the Seahawks in both the sixth and seventh before being relieved by Ritz to start the eighth.
Wagner erupted for five runs on five hits in the eighth to take a 7-4 lead, including a three-run home run before a groundout ended the inning.

Emilio Feliciano helped the Eagles make it a one-run game with RBI singles before the final out was recorded.
