Agosto, Milliner Go Deep as Baseball Drops Opener to Central Connecticut

HANOVER, Md. – Pedro Agosto and Terrell Milliner connected for home runs as Coppin State's baseball team dropped its NEC series opener to Central Connecticut State, 17-4, on Friday afternoon at Joe Cannon Stadium.  The Eagles fell to 5-23 overall and 5-11 in the NEC while the Blue Devils moved to 9-14 on the year and 7-9 in league play.

The duo of Agosto and Milliner had two of the team's three base hits as Emilio Feliciano had the other.  Milliner scored twice while also reaching on a walk.

Jake Cumming received the loss, giving up three earned runs on two hits while striking out two in 1.1 innings.  Luke Corcoran threw the next 3.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs before Brandon Stephens retired a pair of batters while being charged with four earned runs. Nick Dolbin gave up just one walk while striking out a pair in the final 1.2 innings.

Central Connecticut State took a 4-0 lead with three runs in the first and added another in the second before Agosto went deep to left center for a solo home run. Both teams went scoreless in the third before the Blue Devils tacked on two runs in the fourth and seven more in the fifth to go up 13-1.

After leading off the fifth with a single, Feliciano got to third following Milliner's free pass and a sac bunt from Marcus Sanders.  He later scored on a wild pitch and Milliner scored as Jordan Treadwell reached on an error.

Following a four-run sixth by CCSU, Milliner launched a solo home run to left with one out in the seventh for the final run of the game as the next two Eagles grounded out.
