How it Happened
- Coppin scored the first six points of the game with back-to-back layups from Lawrence along with a bucket from Hammond.
- That six-point margin was the largest by either team in the first three quarters which featured eight lead changes and four ties.
- Howard cut the deficit to a basket with a pair of free throws at the 3:26 mark of the first quarter before Belinga had back-to-back scores, extending the lead back to six.
- A late three by the Bison cut the deficit back to 16-14 before McTeer answered with one of her own in the closing seconds, giving CSU a 19-14 advantage after one.
- The second quarter was back-and-forth with Lowry hitting a jumper with ten seconds left, giving Coppin a 35-31 halftime lead.
- Much of the same occurred in the third quarter with Jones converting with three ticks left, giving Coppin a 49-47 advantage heading into the fourth.
- Howard opened the fourth on a 10-0 run, taking a 57-49 lead at the 5:57 mark.
- A jumper by Jones and a three in the corner from Gaston got Coppin to within three with just under five minutes to play.
- The Bison pulled away with another 9-0 run as threes from Lowry and Lawrence were unable to pose much of a late threat.
