ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Jonathan Dunn came off the bench to score a team-high 19 points as the Coppin State men's basketball team fell at South Carolina State, 87-57, on Monday night at SHM Memorial Center. The Eagles fell to 4-20 overall and 2-7 in the MEAC while the Bulldogs improved to 13-12 on the year and 6-3 in league play.

- Dunn made 6-of-9 shots from the floor and 7-of-10 from the line while adding five rebounds.
- Julius Ellerbe III and Khali Horton also finished in double figures, tallying 15 points and ten points, respectively.
- Toby Nnadozie added seven points while the rest of the Eagles combined for just six points.
- Ellerbe had a team-high six rebounds, followed by Dunn and Nnadozie who also finished with four assists, three blocks and two steals.
- The Bulldogs outshot Coppin, 55.0% to 36.5% and got 47 points from their bench.

How it Happened
- South Carolina State led nearly throughout the first half, extending its advantage to as many as 33-21 with 4:13 left.
- Coppin did not go away, clawing its way back to within six nearly two minutes later on six free throws from Dunn and Horton.
- The Bulldogs came right back with a 10-2 run before Dunn hit a layup in the closing seconds, sending Coppin into the locker room trailing, 43-31.
- Dunn hit a free throw to start the second half, but the 11-point deficit was as close as the Eagles got the rest of the way.
