LYNCHBURG, Va. – Coppin State's men's basketball team shot just 28.6% from the floor in a 92-50 loss at Liberty on Saturday afternoon at Liberty Arena. The Eagles fell to 2-10 on the season while the Flames improved to 6-2.
Nelson Lamizana scored a season-high 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting while hitting a three and both of his free throws.
Taj Thweatt buried three 3-pointers and a pair of free throws to finish with 11 points.
Also, contributing on the offensive end was
Jamari Piercy with nine points to go with a team-high eight rebounds.
Daveyon Lydner dished out four assists and both
Hussain Williams and
Hassan Perkins had two apiece.
Liberty shot 58.1% from the floor with 16 3-pointers and had four players score in double figures. The Flames had 28 assists on 36 field goals.
