TEANECK, N.J. – Daniel Moore had two of Coppin State's four base hits as the Eagles dropped their NEC series finale at FDU, 8-0, on Sunday afternoon at Naimoli Complex. Coppin fell to 12-29 on the season and 11-18 in the Northeast Conference while the Knights improved to 22-27 overall and 16-13 in league play.
Moore finished 2-for-4 on the day while
Anthony Divittorio and
Samuel Nieves added the others.
Jayden Asencio and
Angel Colon also drew walks and Divittorio was plunked by a pitch.
Christian Pareja struck out seven batters while allowing five runs on ten hits in 5.0 innings before
Liam McCallum gave up three runs over the next 2.0 innings.
John Neeld fanned two batters in a scoreless inning of relief.
Pareja held the Knights scoreless for the first two innings before FDU scored a run in the third and fourth and three in the fifth. The hosts added two more in the sixth and another in the seventh to break the game open.
Coppin travels to Mount St. Mary's for a 3 pm start on Tuesday, May 14 before hosting LIU for Senior Weekend on May 16-18. Thursday's game starts at 3 pm, followed by 1 pm on Friday and 12 pm on Saturday.
