CARY, N.C. – The Coppin State men's tennis team fell to N.C. Central in the MEAC Tournament, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon at Cary Tennis Park.
N.C. Central picked up a 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles over
Tinashe Whata and
Ulugbek Abdurakhmonov while also earning a win in the second spot, 6-4, against
Liam Murtaugh and
Rick Nieke.
Vansh Kapoor and
Harsh Kheterpal trailed, 5-4, in the top flight as Central clinched the doubles point.
Kapoor fell in straight sets at No. 1 singles while Murtaugh and Abdurakhmonov dropped their matches at four and five, respectively. Whata won his first set at No. 6 singles, 7-5, but trailed, 4-1 in the second, when Central clinched the match.
