After falling behind, 2-0, Esparza doubled down the right field line to drive in
Celeste Gonzalez in the third, cutting the deficit to a single run. Maravilla tied the score with an RBI single to center in the fourth, driving in Peterson, before Peterson put Coppin on top with a sacrifice fly in the fifth, bringing in Esparza who had the first of three-straight singles.
Towson tied it up in its half of the fifth and both teams went scoreless the next two innings, with Carrizosa forcing a 6-3 double play to get out of the seventh.
Carrizosa was placed at second base to start the eighth inning and got to third as Peterson grounded out. A groundball off the bat of Maravilla to first base drove in Carrizosa and proved to be the game-winner as Carrizosa blanked the Tigers in the bottom half.
