Washington, D.C.- Coppin Men's Tennis lost to Howard 6-1 on Friday, April 1st at the Banneker Recreation Center. The Bisons are now 5-5 for the season (3-1 MEAC) while the Eagles drop to 1-3 in conference play.
Luka Markovic won his singles match against Marcel Dawson at number two singles. After dropping the first set 6-4, Markovic made a 7-5 comeback victory in the second set. In the tiebreaker, after trailing to Dawson in the first two games, Markovic made a run and took a 10-4 lead in the set to win the match.
Sergiu Medesan matched against Tory Bailey in first singles. A close first set resulted in a 7-6 loss for Medesan, where he later on lost the second set 6-2.
Vansh Kapoor played in number three singles against Daniel Dunac. Kapoor totaled eight game wins in a two set loss in the match. Dean Waterman won for games in his first set against Hassimiyou Dieng in fourth singles for a two set match loss.
In doubles, the Eagles duo of Medesan ad Markovic engaged a close first doubles match against Justin Cadeau and Dunac. After trailing 5-1 to the Bisons, the Eagles duo made a three game run to trail 5-4 before the match was called off and declared unfinished. Kapoor and Waterman won three games in number two doubles against Bailey and Dawson for a loss at 6-3.
