COCKEYSVILLE, Md. - Competing in their first meet in nearly two years, the Coppin State men's cross country team took third while the women finished sixth at the Towson Invitational, held at the Baltimore Agricultural Center, on Saturday morning.
Making their collegiate cross country debuts,
Amadou Ba led the men, taking 5th overall in 18:08.20 (5K), while
Saidai Stuteley clocked a 17:10.10 (4K) to pace the women's squad.
Also running for the men was
Amiri Goode (20:01.40),
Ivan Wiggins (21:55.50),
Abayie Opuni (22:29.10) and
Jervonne Agard (26:45.80).
Following just behind Stuteley for the women was
Latifa Ali in 17:36.20. Rounding out the scorers for the Eagles was
Shenelle Tomlinson (19:58.30),
Cathryn Lane (20:19.60) and
Kimani Alphonse (20:36.30) while
Destinee Mcleod finished in 24:19.70.
Coppin returns to action on Saturday, September 11 at the Delaware State Invitational, held at the DSU Outreach & Research Center in Smyrna, Del.
