EWING, N.J. – Coppin State's
Sergiu Medesan kept his undefeated singles record alive, but the Eagles fell at The College of New Jersey, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon at TCNJ Recreation Center. The Lions remain unbeaten at 2-0 on the season while the Eagles fall to 1-5.
Medesan picked up his sixth-straight win in singles play, defeating Matthew Michibata 6-2, 6-3 in the second spot.
The Eagles picked up one point during doubles play as
Michael Michael and
Henrique Sada earned an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles. Medesan and
Vansh Kapoor were edged in the top spot by an 8-6 mark.
Michael went three sets in his match at No. 3 singles with a 6-4 victory in the opener. He then dropped the next two sets 7-5, 10-6. Kapoor won five games in his defeat at Court 4. Sada and
Christopher Green each picked up three games in their matches at Nos. 1 and 6, respectively.
CSU opens MEAC play on Saturday, April 3 when it hosts Norfolk State.
