FAIRFAX, Va. – Sergiu Medesan remains unbeaten in singles play this season, but the Coppin State men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at George mason on Sunday at Mason Tennis Courts. The Eagles are now 1-3 on the season.
A junior from Constanta, Romania, Medesan swept Mason's Ryan Charles 6-3, 6-4 to earn the victory at No. 2 singles. Medesan also paired with freshman
Vansh Kapoor at No. 2 doubles and picked up a 6-4 victory.
Coppin earned the doubles point as the duo of
Michael Michael and
Henrique Sada won their match in the third doubles flight, 7-6 (8-6).
George Mason won five of the six singles matches to earn the victory. Michael won three games in both of his sets at No. 3 singles while Kapoor picked up five games in his defeat in the fourth position.
The Eagles are set to host Loyola (Md.) on Tuesday, March 16.
