ARLINGTON, Va. – Coppin State's women's tennis team was defeated by George Washington University, 7-0 on Friday afternoon at Arlington YMCA. The Eagles now stand at 0-3 on the season while the Colonials even their record at 1-1.
GW took both doubles matches to earn the first point going into singles play.
Iva Jankovic and
Christy Turner were paired in the top slot and fell, 6-2.
Mackenzie Jones and
Tinashe Gwaze were topped at No. 2 singles.
Jankovic won five games in her defeat in the second singles flight while Turner also took a game at No. 3 singles.
The Eagles are set to open MEAC play on Thursday, March 4 at Delaware State.
